About Equine Minds

Community benefit, not private profit

Equine Minds CIC exists to widen access to meaningful learning, skills and progression for children and young people who may not thrive in more traditional learning environments.

Our purpose

Interest becomes achievement

We use genuine interest in horses and equine subjects as a starting point for learning.

That interest can lead into confidence, knowledge, recognised achievement, further learning, employability and professional development.

We aim to keep good-quality learning as financially accessible as we reasonably can, while creating opportunities for people who have experienced barriers to education, training or employment. Income is reinvested into developing Equine Minds, widening access and creating more opportunities for learners and families.

Founder

Stacy Harris-Wann

Stacy founded Equine Minds after years working across equine practice, education and learner support.

Her professional background brings together equine education, accredited ADHD coaching, Equine Facilitated Learning practitioner training, teaching and training qualifications, and further study in social work, care, wellbeing and safeguarding.

She combines professional training with lived neurodivergent experience to shape how Equine Minds approaches learning, feedback, accessibility and learner support.

Hard guardrails

What we will never do

  1. Standards

We do not lower the required learning outcome in the name of inclusion. We remove unnecessary barriers around reaching it. Support, pacing and the way a learner engages may vary. The required standard does not.

  2. Claims

We will never overstate accreditation, recognition, insurance, employment outcomes or what a certificate qualifies someone to do.

  3. Welfare

Horses are never used simply as a hook or gimmick. Learner welfare, safeguarding and horse welfare come before growth, convenience or commercial pressure.
